Why do you think your right hand is superior to the left?
It spent at least twice the time actually playing the piano (amount of key depressions). Imagine practicing your left hand twice the time in the next years. Both hands will become equally good.
The imaginable improvement of the left hand, bringing it to the level of the right hand, is a qualitative leap. Imagine now spending twice the time practicing with the right. A similar qualitative leap can be projected, though not imagined, if twice the time practicing would be spent on the right hand.
